AppsFlyer Integration

Connect AppsFlyer with AI DASH to run your Starti campaigns while using the AppsFlyer SDK for attribution and reporting.

Written by STARTI AI

Starti integrates with AppsFlyer so you can use AppsFlyer for mobile attribution while measuring and optimizing app performance in AI DASH.

With the integration:

  1. Starti sends eligible CTV impression data to AppsFlyer through your AppsFlyer attribution link.

  2. AppsFlyer matches eligible app installs and in-app events to those impressions based on your attribution settings.

  3. AppsFlyer sends configured install and in-app event postbacks to Starti.

  4. AI DASH uses these signals for campaign reporting and optimization.

CTV ad is typically viewed on a TV while the resulting app activity happens on another device, such as a smartphone or tablet, the integration uses AppsFlyer’s cross-platform attribution capabilities to connect these interactions.

Before You Begin

Before connecting AppsFlyer to AI DASH, make sure that:

  1. You have admin-level access to the app in your AppsFlyer account and permission to manage partner integrations.

  2. The AppsFlyer SDK is implemented in your app and the install and in-app events you want to measure are being recorded correctly.

  3. You have an AppsFlyer OneLink template configured for cross-platform attribution.

If you have not created your OneLink yet, see How to Create the AppsFlyer CTV Impression Attribution Link.

Set Up the Integration

Step 1: Activate Starti DSP in AppsFlyer

In AppsFlyer:

1. From the side menu, go to Collaborate > Partner Integrations.

2. Open the Partner Marketplace.

3. Search for and select Starti DSP.

4. Click ⚙️ Integrate.

5. Turn on Activate partner.

6. Under Install attribution, turn on Install view-through attribution.

This allows AppsFlyer to consider eligible ad impressions when attributing an app install.

7. For iOS apps: Disable Advanced Privacy Mode to allow full attribution data

Step 2: Configure Cross-Platform Attribution

Cross-Platform Attribution should be enabled to ensure AppsFlyer can properly attribute installs and conversions driven by CTV ads across devices. If it is not enabled, some users who see your CTV ad and later complete a conversion may not be correctly attributed to your campaign.

Within the Starti DSP integration, locate the Cross-platform section.

  1. Turn on Cross-platform equal attribution priority.

  2. Set the Equal attribution priority lookback window to 6 hours.

With this setting enabled, eligible cross-platform impressions within the configured window can receive the same attribution priority as eligible clicks.

Step 3: Configure Install and In-App Event Postbacks

Configure the install postback

Under Default postbacks, configure Install as follows:

  • Event Name: Install

  • For users from: All media sources, including organic

Configure in-app event postbacks

Turn on In-app event postbacks, then add the events you want to use in AI DASH.

For each event:

  • Select the corresponding AppsFlyer event.

  • Under Mapped to partner event, use the same event name unless your Starti account manager has provided a different mapping.

  • Under For users from, select All media sources, including organic.

  • For revenue events, select Values & revenue when you want event value and revenue data to be available.

  • For non-revenue events, select the appropriate data-sharing option for that event.

For example:

💡 Why “All media sources, including organic”?

Selecting “All media sources, including organic” allows SmartReach™ to fully engage for campaign optimization. See Understand SmartReach™ . Starti requires this setting if the campaign goal is set to App Engagement.

⚠️ Important: When you finish configuring your postbacks, click Save Integration.

Step 4: Create and Setup Your Attribution Links

Before continuing, make sure your OneLink template has Cross-platform attribution enabled.

In AppsFlyer:

  1. Open Collaborate > Active Integrations > Starti DSP.

  2. Select the Attribution link tab.

  3. Select Use OneLink.

  4. Choose the OneLink template configured for cross-platform attribution.

  5. Under the view-through attribution section: Turn on Cross-platform attribution

  6. Set the Cross-platform view-through attribution window to 72 hours.

  7. Only copy the base portion of your Impression attribution link and Click attribution link (ending with the ?).

Your links will follow a format similar to:
